De aanspreekvorm hen (they) lijkt me toch een meervoud, alleen al daarom vreemd.

Feitelijk natuurlijk een beetje kolder om een steeds langere afkorting te maken voor wat eigenlijk simpelweg 'niet-cis-hetero' is, maar er bestaat nog geen algemeen geaccepteerde verzamelterm.
Molurus In het Nederlands is het wat geforceerder omdat 'hen' vanouds altijd meervoud is. In het Engels is 'they' als enkelvoud eeuwenoud (zie o.a. voorbeelden op https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singular_they ) dus voelt dit voor een Engelsspreker doorgaans minder gek.

De groep was Nederlands en het nummer was een reactie op de zinloosheid van de Falklandoorlog. Om die reden werd de single niet op de Britse radio gedraaid. Ook in Zuid-Afrika mocht de plaat niet uitgebracht worden, daar niet omdat de groep uit zowel blanke als zwarte muzikanten bestond...
Ik stond net met de toetsenman van deze band te praten. (Zei me niks, moest dit net opzoeken.)
